1.  2011 Chair Dr. Hiroko Karan and Past Chair Mr. Frank Romano begin the celebration of the International Year of Chemistry at the Sectionwide Conference on January 15.

2.  Dr. Karan explains the four themes for the IYC celebration in 2011.

3.  Mr. Stephen Radice, Chair of the Nichols Foundation Award Jury, presents the High School Chemistry Teacher Award to Mrs. Kay Sirianni of Brooklyn Technical High School for her dedicated work as an outstanding chemistry teacher from the ACS New York Section.

4.  Dr. James Canary (center) is honored with the Outstanding Service Award for 2010. Dr. Canary chaired the Section in 2005 and developed the Nanoscience Topical Discussion Group.

5.  Mr. Frank Romano accepts the ACS plaque, Past Chair pin and gift from Dr. Karan for his dedicated service as Chair for 2010.

6.  The three co-chairs of the Student Affiliate Committee receiving the Salutes to Excellence Awards for their dedicated service in organizing the annual Undergraduate Research Symposium. They are Dr. Alison Hyslop, Dr. JaimeLee Rizzo and Dr. Sharon Lall-Ramnarine.
