The mission of the Environmental Chemistry Committee is to orient and educate the public about current environmental issues. Annual seminars (named the Dr. Frances Sterrett Symposium in honor of the founder of the group) usually are scheduled in May at Hofstra University, and include topics that are relevant to current events. The seminars also have a poster session for students.
