The 2014 symposium provides an excellent opportunity for undergraduate chemistry students in the New York metropolitan area to present the results of their research. The program includes a keynote address and oral presentations of student papers, followed by a luncheon and award reception.

Significant Dates for the 62nd Undergraduate Research Symposium

  • Abstract Submission and Online Registration begins February 22, 2014.
  • Regular Online Registration ends March 7, 2014.
  • Late Registration ends March 14, 2014.
  • Deadline for Abstract Submission - March 15, 2014.
  • Deadline for Early Registration payment receipt - March 31, 2014
  • Notification of abstract acceptance will be announced between March 26 - April 2, 2014

Moderators, Mentors, Exhibitors and Guests may still register

Please Note:

  • Early registration is free for Presenters who are ACS Student Members, Mentors, Moderators, and Exhibitors who register by March 7, 2014.
  • Guests must pay an early registration fee of $35 by March 31, 2014.
  • The onsite registration fee is $45 for Presenters, Mentors, Moderators, and Exhibitors and Guests.
  • All student presenters must be student members of the ACS for free registration to the URS. If you are not already a student member, please sign up for membership at the ACS website . If you do not sign up for student membership, a registration fee of $35 is due by March 31, 2014. If payment is not recieved by March 31, 2014, the student will not be allowed to present.
  • The deadline for receipt of early registration fees is March 31, 2014. Checks should be made out to:
    "NY ACS" and sent to:

  • If you are a Student Presenter, you must also submit an Abstract as a Microsoft Word document (.doc only). The deadline for Abstract submission is March 15, 2014. 
  • Mac Users: Make sure your presentation can run on a PC with MS Office 2007.
  • Student researchers and their advisors are responsible for verifying the information in their submission.
  • There are separate registration forms below according to whether you are a Student Presenter, a Faculty Mentor, an Exhibitor/Recruiter, or a Guest.
  • Notification of Abstract acceptance will be announced between March 26 - April 2, 2014
