Activities for 2007
This past year, subsection activities consisted of a high school student awards evening held in November. We regret again that our spring speaker event had to be postponed once again, and as a result have decided not to request any funds for 2007.
The Outstanding High School Student
Award Night was held on November 15. The featured speaker
was Richard Stanley, a part-time instructor of chemistry and consultant,
who gave a seminar entitled “Trans-Fats and Oils”. After the seminar
and presentation of awards, Ms. Kimberly Farrell, a chemistry major at
Wagner, conducted a tour of some of the research chemistry laboratories
at Wagner. About 50 people were in attendance. Several copies
of the program are included.
