The New York Section is very grateful to LSAC for approving the grant of $3000 for National Chemistry Week and the $500, which we used to run 2 science cafes.

We believe that including the 60 year members to be honored is excellent.  Since the NY Section  always honored the 50 year members  with a luncheon, it certainly put that budget in the red by adding the 60. The NY Section will put in for grant money to help defray the cost.

I attended the Leadership Conference in Baltimore in January 2006.  I am sure that the program has changed over time, but I still would like to recommend the book, "The Leadership Challenge" by James Kouzes and Barry Posner.  It was an excellent 'take home' item and most useful.
