The Environmental Committee hosted the Eleventh Annual Francis S.  By all standards the event was successful.  Speakers were excellent and comments by attendees were universally positive.  Approximately 60 people attended the environmental conference.  Unlike most LIACS events, there was a charge for attendance at the Sterrett Symposium, twenty-five dollars for ACS members and thirty-five dollars for non-members, helping to defray hospitality costs.  In addition, an allocation from the New York section helped to cover the mailing costs for this event.
