NATIONAL CHEMISTRY WEEK 2019
October 20 - 26, 2019

The New York Section of the American Chemical Society will celebrated National Chemistry Week on Sunday October 20, 2019 at the New York Hall of Science in Flushing, Queens from 11:00am to 4:00pm. The event showcased chemistry principles using demonstrations performed by local college students and volunteers from local industries for children of all ages. Read about it in The Indicator.

The Periodic Table

Celebrating the International Year of the Periodic Table

The New York Local Section of the American Chemical Society joined the world-wide effort to celebrate the International Year of the Periodic Table in 2019 by constructing a giant three-dimensional Periodic Table display for the National Chemistry Week celebration at the New York Hall of Science. This table, composed of 118 individual element panels designed by participants and approximately 12ft x 10ft x 9ft in size, pays tribute to the glorious discovery of the periodicity of the chemical elements and was unveiled at our award-winning National Chemistry Week celebration on Friday, October 18, 2019. National Chemistry Week National Illustrated Poem Contest

The New York Local Section of the American Chemical Society (ACS) will also sponsor an illustrated poem contest for students in Kindergarten - 12^th grade. Winners of the New York City Section illustrated poem contest will be advanced to the ACS National Illustrated Poem Contest! Please contact Erin Wasserman for further information.
