Virtual Demos       Kahoot! Contest      Illustrated Poem Contest

The New York Section of the American Chemical Society invites everyone to celebrate National Chemistry Week with us. We are hosting virtual demonstrations, a chemistry knowledge contest via Kahoot! and an illustrated poem contest. Our virtual celebration starts at 11:00 am with Welcoming Remarks, followed by demonstrations in several parallel Zoom sessions. Click on each individual Zoom session between their posted times and enjoy these interactive chemistry demonstrations.

The New York Local Section of the American Chemical Society invites students to compete for their chemistry knowledge via a 15-30 min. online Kahoot game. The contest will be online on October 25, 2020 from 1:30 - 4:30 pm. Winners in the following five categories will be recognized: K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12, and college first year students. Please register for this event here .

Contest Rules:
• The player must be a student in the respective grade category & must register first to play.
• The player is allowed a) a periodic table, b) 1-2 pieces of blank paper, and c) 1-2 pens/pencils.
• The player must complete the questions without aid from other people and/or additional materials or devices.
